While it’s true that ABE provides office technology and IT services, that’s only part of our story. This commitment was the cornerstone of Harry Jackson’s vision when he founded ABE in 1981, and it remains our guiding principle today.
In those early days, ABE operated from a single location in Oak Forest Shopping Plaza. The name itself reflected Harry’s ambition: to bring the most advanced business technology to WNC. With a small team of just four employees, ABE proudly offered typewriters and fax machines – the forefront of business technology at the time!

Our journey over the past four decades reflects our dedication to staying ahead of the curve in the ever-evolving world of office technology. From our expansion to the larger Sweeten Creek location in 1992, to Kevin Jackson taking the helm as CEO in 2002, our reach into the Upstate in 2010, and the pivotal addition of our IT division in 2013 – every step has been driven by our commitment to remain at the forefront of this revolution.
